HELM ENGAGE: Enabling and empowering women in leadership in South African universities

Loading Events

HELM ENGAGE is a new and exciting initiative that gives higher education leaders and managers the kind of information and engagement that they need, when they need it. HELM ENGAGE showcases formidable thinkers and practitioners who shape the higher education sector locally, continentally and globally.  Like a good coffee, these online gatherings are intended to be short, sharp and robust.

In 2020, the British Council partnered with USAf in the implementation of the first phase of the Women in Leadership (WiL) programme. Part 1 of the engagement will examine the immediate impact of this programme, highlighting the successes and key lessons learnt. With an introduction to the HELM ENGAGE series by Professor Ahmed Bawa, Megan Franklin from M&ESURE Research and Evaluation will present the review of the programme  Responding to the review and looking to the future will be Professor Denise Zinn, WiL Programme Leader; the Acting DDG of DHET, Dr Thandi Lewin; and Jean September, Deputy Country Director, British Council.
