The rapid emergence and adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies present a transformative opportunity for South African universities to enhance teaching, learning, research, administration, and institutional decision-making. However, the effective and ethical integration of AI requires informed leadership capable of understanding AI concepts, governance implications, risks, opportunities, and strategic applications within the university environment.
