Universities South Africa (USAf) is pleased to invite you to the launch of its Position Paper titled Developing an Approach to Internationalisation in South African Universities: Employment Equity and the Appointment of International Staff, authored by Professor Crain Soudien. The paper was commissioned by USAf’s Transformation Strategy Group (TSG) to inform the sector’s position on the employment of international academics in the context of South Africa’s transformation, internationalisation, employment equity and human capital development imperatives.
The Position Paper explores the relationship between internationalisation and Africanisation, examines national and institutional policy perspectives, and considers the contribution of international academics to the South African higher education system. It also provides recommendations aimed at supporting the sector’s approach to employment equity and the recruitment of international academic talent.
